Silver-Spotted Skippers normally do not sit still long enough for me to capture more than one or two shots. This little guy was so cheeky and seemed to strut his stuff for the camera. Either that or he was ready to take me on, one-on-one.
After a bit, he figured I was not worth the trouble and went to feasting on the local flora.
Just last week the butterfly bush was sizzling with activity. Now it is only the occasional Painted Lady or a Silver Spotted Skipper that visits.
I can’t see one of those little guys without remembering the first time I found one–I was all upset because I thought a bird had messed on it.
From Fiery Skippers to Painted Skippers to others I have not yet identified, these happy little fellas are in common abundance. However, I have found myself craving one of those super thick, chocolate milk shakes (you know, the ones that are served upside down) after photographing these little faces.
